Tracts:  Maintenance (8 a.m. to 4:14 p.m. Choose one each session)

Track 1 – Morning (8 a.m. to 10 a.m.):

1. Disaster & Emergency Response Planning:  You can’t prevent emergencies, but you can be prepared.  Wind, water or fire damage can cause trauma, displace tenants, cause structural damage and many other disruptions to your business.  Join us in an interactive session to plan before a disaster to be able to act quickly during, and after the unplanned event takes place.  You will leave with a disaster planning guide that you can personalize and implement at your own organization.  The session will be facilitated by Monica Chapman, Director of Business Development at PuroClean and Co-owner of CMD (Construction Management Direct) with over 20 years’ experience in the emergency restoration industry.

1. Maintenance Round Table: Ever wondered how your peers at other organizations deal with a certain problem? This informal session is being provided as an opportunity for you to discuss those issues with your colleagues.  The following topics are provided to start the conversation, but this session is driven by the participants.  Topics include: Bed Bugs, Landscape and Drainage, and Security Cameras. 

Track 2 – Morning (10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.):

1. Hoarding:  Come learn about Hoarding, what it is, what it isn’t and how to interact with Hoarders professionally and with empathy.  Presented by David O’Leary,

1. Capital Planning:  Learn how to use the CNA as a management tool and a living document.  Discover how to use it for scheduling and as a way to foster vendor relations.  This session is aimed at tipping maintenance away from a reactive treadmill towards an empowered proactive strategy.  Presented by Rewa Worthington, Director of Asset Management at Housing Vermont.   

Track 3 – Afternoon (12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.):

1. REAC Inspections: Changes and Updates with US Housing Consultants – Greg DiGasper.  This session will focus on the changes in HUDs focus for REAC inspections, and discuss the best ways to prepare for an inspection as well as the value and limitations of a pre-REAC inspection.  

1. HVAC Round Table Part I:  This round table is a chance to discuss energy efficiency, HVAC trends, mechanical performance monitoring and data points, Ventilation & ERVs, and building automation, among other topics.  This informal session is being provided as an opportunity for you to discuss where energy efficiency is and where it is going, success stories and failures and to learn from collective industry experience.  Participants include VEIC, Parsons Platform Inc., Housing Vermont, Efficiency Vermont and many others.  The session will be facilitated by Sue Cobb, a project manager at Housing Vermont with 25+ years’ experience in affordable housing.

Track 4 – Afternoon (2:45 p.m. to 4:15/4:30 p.m.):

1. Tenant Relations:  This communications workshop is designed to help you be more comfortable interacting with tenants.  Topics include; How to handle interruptions tactfully, how to say “No” when necessary, how to build professional relationships with tenants, and how to communicate with empathy while maintaining boundaries.  Lead by Ross Gibson.
